Indoor Halloween Decorations

Posted by Raiscara Avalon

076 I finally got my Halloween decorations up inside.  Which is honestly better then other years…especially some that I never even decorated for.  It took me all of about 10 minutes, definitely not a huge waste of time.  I’ll probably tweak various decorations all month, and the vast majority will come down November 1st as they’re very Halloweeny.

This picture is of one of my favorite Halloween decorations.  Its a tea light holder from Bath & Body Works that I bought while I still worked there.  Its an orange glass bowl with a black iron insert to hold the tea light.  When you light the tea light, you can see the cut outs reflected on the orange bowl.  I almost wish Halloween was year round so I can keep this up.  When the candle flickers, it looks like the witch is flying…which obviously the picture doesn’t do it justice.

Witches, pumpkins and ghosts oh my!  This is the top of my entertainment center, which is the only flat surface in the living room both big enough to have a display on, but also fairly clean.  I’m in the process of getting rid of a lot of things, so of course I have piles everywhere.  Sorry, no you don’t get to see my mess! :)

The necessary photo display.  Doesn’t everyone do something with family photos every season?  Oh, I’m the only one?  Nah.  You might recognize the tea light holder in the middle, its the same one from the first picture.  It just hasn’t been lit yet.  The two witches on either side are taper candle holders.  I just haven’t dug out my tapers yet. :)

These are the three ghosties from my entertainment center display, once they are all lit up.  Each of them hold a tea light (the holder is in the back).  Not very scary ghosts, are they? :)

And that sums up the stage 1 Halloween decorations.  I’m hoping to get the outside ones done up this weekend, if it ever stops raining.  Between the cold and the rain not much of the yearly fall projects are getting done.  Almost all of my decorations were inherited from my Nana, so I’m not sure where they came from.  If I know, I’ll say! :)

A New Holiday Season!

Posted by Raiscara Avalon

Time to dust off the holiday blogs, or start a new one.  Its that time of year again!  The crisp smell of fall is in the air, the days are getting shorter, and Halloween is right around the corner.  Scary I know.  Anyone else NOT ready for the holidays?  Yet I'm somehow strangely excited, go fidigure.  I think the decorating bug has already gotten to me!
